Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

World Population Data Sheet

SummaryText
Population Reference Bureau's World Population Data Sheet, in a wallchart format, contains the latest population estimates, projections, and other key indicators for 200 countries, including births, deaths, natural increase, infant mortality, total fertility, life expectancy, urban population, contraceptive use, HIV/AIDS infection, land area, and population per square mile.

Several of these data sheets are also searchable in PRB's DataFinder - a database that contains data on 244 United States (US) variables and 132 world variables, and for 210 countries. The user can create country or US state profiles of demographic variables such as total population, fertility rates, infant mortality rates, and HIV/AIDS prevalence.

Other resources available for some of the time periods covered by the Data Sheets are: the Population Bulletin; the World Population Clock; and MS PowerPoint presentations from press briefings.
