Produced by CARE International in Vietnam, this full-colour booklet uses many pictures and aims to be a user-friendly guide to make people aware of and able to take precautions to prevent avian influenza (avian flu or bird flu). The booklet has three major sections

• How to Recognise Avian Influenza Infection in Your Poultry - provides an explanation of what avian inluenza is, how it may be transmitted, and describes symptoms and signs.
• How to Prevent Your Poultry From Becoming Infected with the Avian Influenza Virus - explains steps that can be taken both before an outbreak occurs, and once an outbreak has been reported.
• How to Prevent Humans From Becoming Infected with Avian Influenza - explains how humans may be infected, and lists examples of groups of people who are more likely to be exposed. It also explains measures to be taken to avoid infection.
